the last time the wheels were taken off (the right way) was at least 2 months ago, if they didnt torque them right back then, i probablly would of found out a long time ago. but i guess when the cars about to tip 170k miles anything can happen

Damn, that's crazy. My g/f's wheel fell off her grand am a while back, because her brother in law didn't tighten her lugs. Unless someone was screwin with you and loosened your lugs. If you do part your car, I got dibs on your alpine type r interior speakers.

That's true. I'm anal about other people fixin my car. I'm fortunate enough to have a friend who has a really nice shop with all the right tools and equipment.
The only time when someone else is gonna work on my car will be the time when it needs a new tranny.

not the car's fault, and there should have been some noise or vibration, or wabbling before the wheel just came off. What happened to your 4 lugs, did they all 4 fall off at once? Did the studs break, did you find the lugs, or had some fallen off already b4 this?
i'll tell you right now its the technician or mechanic that is responsible. if the lug nuts are torqued correctly, your wheel shouldn't have come off at ALL!! the good thing is that you're allright. the person who didn't torque your lug nuts correctly should be liable for all damages from that wheel coming off. if i were you, you should see if you are able to take any legal action.

lol, this almost happened to me recently. I had painted my wheel calipers, and I don't remember why, but my friend was tightening all th elugs, and I asked him like 10 times "You're sure you tightened them enough? you promise?" and then two days ago I was looking at my tires/suspension because the car was shaking a little at high speeds, adn 3 lugs had fallen off and the 3 remaining ones on one tire were abou to. I wanna kill that mofo.

agreed. thats why i try to install everything that im capable of doin unless it requires things like puttin on a tire to a wheel or something along those lines.
