What's Wrong?
okay so i started my car to go to the bank....i turn it on and it start's and revs up to like .5K and then the rpm just drop all the way and the car shut's off and all the lights come on
This happened like maybe 6-8 times b4 the car started up after me reving till 5K rpm right after i started the car...and i reved almost everyother time too but nothing happened until finally it started and it was fine....I went to the bank and got back in and started the car and it was fine no shuttering.
WHAT'S WRONG????
BTW i have a 99 3.0...Thank in advance guys.

i just filled up my gas it's a full tank...my spark plugs i changed like a year ago i think with bosche platinum +4's....and with the alternator going bad do all the lights still work perfectly and the engine just goes dead??
I'm pretty sure it's not the battery
I'm pretty sure it's not the battery
If his RPM is jumping up to 5k then it could be a problem with the timing or maybe even the throttle.
It could be a faulty ECU as well. Sending the wrong information to the automatic choke.

if your battery light comes on when the car is running, you could have an alternator problem. if the light isn't on but you want to be 100% positive its working fine, while the car is running, disconnect the positive battery cable, if the car stalls, the alternator is dead, if the car keeps running, the alternator is working fine.
in other words...
check all your spark plugs, make sure none of them are loose, and make sure they are gapped properly. also check the wires, make sure the insulation isn't dry/cracked around the copper wire itself, and make sure the connections on both ends of each wire are in their correct places and tight.
check your air filter, make sure theres nothing in any part of the intake system that can restrict any kind of airflow.
check to make sure your fuel pump is working correctly, also replace your fuel filter and inspect all fuel lines for leaks or anything restricting fuel flow between the gas tank and engine. it might be a good idea to use a fuel system cleaner of some sort.
I would also recommend:
check alternator/power steering belts, just make sure they're tight and none of the pulleys are loose, check your oil leve, and check your throttle cable to make sure it isnt stuck or loose. If you get your car running normal, or close to normal, use seafoam, that should help. also clean out the throttle body with carb cleaner.

Sounds like the Idle Air Control Valve. It's located right under the throttle body. Or it could be the Alternator. I know they are two completely different components with completely different purposes. But with the little info I got, that's all I can come up with. Hope this helps.
The reason why I mentioned those two components, was because I had both go bad on me, and both had similar effects with the car.
