Whats the safest way to floor it?

Whats the safest way to floor it? As in respects to the engine, tranny, etc? I know its kind of an oxymoron but you get the idea.

Im going to make a video clip of the car this weeekend and prolly going to have to hit WOT a bunch of times. I wanna do it the best way for the tranny. Like go 40 then floor it? Floor it from a stop?

taking off from a start is better then flooring it around 40...

i dont think its good for the tranny to work its way up to 4th gear and then all of a sudden shift to 2nd.. our trannies might get a little confused

like so--->

edit:

O.. never mind.. u got a 2.2... lol.. just do whatever u want..

i was referring to 3.0's

i have the 2.3 and its best to floor it at 30 mph to shift into 1st gear, 59 mph to shift into second gear, 89 miles an hour to shift it into 3 gear, and your car will prolly top out at 130 mph, most likely less depending on conditions. the most crucial point in acceleration is first and second gear, so it won't shift into 1st gear if you're going over 30 mph, so before you floor it, get it down to 30, then it'll shift into 1st, and if you have an intake, it'll be loud, i know mine is, unless you're already going like 35, then it wont make any difference. And what are you making a video for, like a school project or something? And i prolly wouldn't worry about fllooring it a lot that day, i floor my car all the time, hits 5000 rpm atleast 5 times a day and the car is coming up on 78K miles on it. those are the specs for 16 inch rims though, you have 18s so i don't know if your speedometer is showing you correct speeds, and them L5 kickers are sick, shoulda gotten L7s, still a hot system though, can hear that shit a longs as distance away.

Noooo!! heh :p Seriously though, thats VERY bad for the drivetrain. Thats probably the most unsafe way to floor it. Just roll into the throttle quickly, or if youre looking to do some "burnouts", do a brake stand. Of course, make sure the engine is warm.

what i meant was at those speeds, floor it, and it'll downshift automatically to the lowest gear possible.

and you're right, i think even just one L7 is straight, 2 prolly would shatter the windows.

i used to do that on the highway. to engine brake , when i spot a cop..

but unlike manuals, where u can rev match, b4 u down shift, the autos will just cause more friction to the tranny when u down shift from a high speed..

i blew my first tranny at 42k miles.. after that, im very careful with it, .. i dont ever go from d4 to d3 any more.. im at 92k miles, with very little tranny slip... on my first tranny that i abused, i used to get more and more tranny slip from my 1st to second (my torque would stop at about 6.5k, but my gears wouldnt change til it hit 7.2k).. and then finally.. no catch onto second... took it to the dealer, and luckily it was still under warranty..

our trannies are shit!!!.. therefore be good to it..
(referring mostly to 3.0)

i go from d4 to d3 all the time to reduce speed around cops.

And i know the exact speeds cuz i floor my gas all the time, after a while, i knew the exact speeds the car has to be at to upshift to the nest gear up, and with an intake it sounds sick. but like i was saying, you have 18 inch wheels, so i don't know if them speeds i gave will work. test before you do the video. and good luck keeping up with the other cars, they are way faster than yours.
