In your experience can someone tell me the difference between Gun metal and Hyperblack. I'm looking online at wheels and I'm not getting a good definite description of hyperblack, some times it's darker and sometimes it's lighter than gunmetal. I'm someone has hyperblack rims can they post some pics.

gunmetal is just grey grey. Hyperblack is like silver with a hint of black. Gunmetal rims look grey all around. Hyperblack rims look silvery greyish at different angles.

 

Hyperblack is lighter than gunmetal. I have hyperblack Velox wheels for my Integra. In some light, you can't even really tell that the wheels aren't anything other than polished aluminum.

IMO Hyperblack>Gunmetal

 

good description. I was actually looking at my wheels today and they looked silver. Its funny, because on other lighting, they'll look dark dark gray.

 

Hmm that's cool I guess but I want a dark grey so I might have to go with gunmetal.

 

When the wheels are clean, the subtle difference in color with Hyperblack can't be beat. I understand if you want something darker and closer to black.

I think I'm gonna have to see hyperblack in person before I can make a decision.

I have gunmetal wheel on my civic but they are really grey looking,I think the hyperblack would look alot better.

 

Check out subbuzz's white CL with hyperblack rims, he has some nice wheels. Just pay no attention to the bent rim, and tiny rubberbands

Jonniwatts can you upload some pics of your rims so I can see them. I can't get a real good look with your avatar. I've seen subbuzz's rims I didn't know they were hyperblack. I'll look at them again though, thanks. Anyone else have gunmetal or hyperblack rims and can upload a couple pics so I can see them?

thanks jonni, I think it's cool that it can change from silver to gunmetal but since I want gunmetal all the time and not silver I think I'll stick with gunmetal. but if I couldn't decide between silver and gunmetal than I'd definitely do hyperblack. I think your rims look best in the second pic and not as good in the first but that's just my opinion. So I guess I'm going gunmetal. Now the question is do I get 18s or 19s now that I see your 18s I'm thinking I might want to go bigger and get 19s. BTW, here's the rims I'm looking at getting:

the second ones feel like they have so much going on, but at least they are different.
im kind of sick of seeing wheels that look like the first ones, though they do look nice and clean..
if i had never seen other wheels people have, i would probably go for the first ones.
but i feel like every other wheel i see on here resembles the first ones, so i would go with the other ones.

my opinion, go with the second ones. i feel like im going to be alone on this..

imo hyperblack is the bomb, i love mine, you get the best of all worlds.when the sun hits at the right angle they look chrome/shiney,and other times they look dark/mean.

alittle better the glossblacks are gonna be pissed you gotta have the right color for gunmetal..alot of like 99 blue civic si's around here got gunmetal...i still say hyperblack> (cuz i have them)

CHROME IS RICE on imports ok........... atleast i dont think my chromies are rice they have a nice classy sporty look.
