What's causing the rough idle?

My car has been idling rough for the past week. It doesn't do it when I first start, but once it warms up a little, it gets rough. Just a little shaking and I can hear it, but there's no visible change in the RPM and no discernable noise from the engine. I just put fuel injector cleaner in a day or two after it started, and that hasn't helped. Wondering if the ignition recall has anything to do with it. And I got the first stage of the emission recall done about 10,000 miles ago, but I'm at 77,000 now and could tecnically go ahead and do the over 75,000 recall with the plug change etc. Does anyone have any ideas on what could cause this and if having the recalls done would solve the problem? The tranny fluid is getting close to replacement too, but dunno if that's the problem.

Could need a valve adjustment but that's usually at higher mileage. Have you changed your fuel filter?

if its at idle it could be a broken motor mount...my car has 32k, and already needs a new front motor mount.

No check engine light yet. And don;t think it's a motor mount b/c there isn't any vibration really, I can just hear the engine sputtering a little. No problems when I'm on the gas though, just at idle.

Could be the alternator not giving the car enough juice. Does it get worse with the AC and lights on?

I'd throw in a can of dry gas - get the kind that is pure isopropyl alcohol (not that cheap crap like "Christy's". When seasons change you can get condensation in your tank which gives the symptoms you describe - besides, it can't hurt and only costs a buck or so.

For anyone interested, it was the EGR valve. They replaced a tube there and cleaned that and the throttle body.
