I have noticed he never can post something in one post, its always two or three back to back. Really annoying

I would say you need more than i/e/h as well. i would def. look into getting on the bottle or a custom turbo/SC

Are you retarded? You truly are one of the dumbest and most immature mother fuckers on this board. Please stop taking up bandwidth on this server.

cat-back will get you 3-5hp. Headers would give you 25-30, but ONLY on a Type-S. With headers, intake, exhaust you might get around 25hp. Another thing to consider is if GT is a manual or auto tranny. If you get all the bolt-ons and he is an auto, you have a small chance based on his driving error. WIth a manual tranny you have no chance (unless he has no clue how to drive)

My friend just got a new mustang GT so now he thinks he's the fastest car on the road or something ... anyways thats why i asked the question in the first place. I was hoping not have to go bottle and there is no way I could afford any kind of forced injection so i guess until i get a different car he will have the faster car ... notice i said faster not better

to beat a mustang GT from 96-99 you would have to be in the 15.5, and thats if you get lucky.

the 99+ GT's are much faster, so unless you start adding I/H/E/P/Zex you dont really stand a chanse.

Speaking of which...

I came up on a fixed up RS eclipse and a mustang (whose exhaust pipes I couldn't see)...So I thought the mustang was a V6 and the pipe was on the other side since I was coming up on his right side. Blow by both of them and wait at the light. The eclipse went behind me and didn't want to race (Strict rules in FL, new law --> Insta Jail, $700 fine, car impounded if caught racing). So I'm thinking, I'll let the mustang launch first since its a V6 and I don't wanna look like a dumbass and launch unless he's really racing.

So I gun it after I hear his tires screech. Bastard pulls 2 cars ahead and the gap remains even to 60. Thing is LOUD. VERY LOUD. Much louder than a V6 (uh oh). Then he slowly walks me, at which point I call it a defeat. I figure out later that its a GT running open cats (hence why I couldn't see the exhaust piping). **sigh** Oh well, it was fun...But definitely had me regardless if I launched correctly or not. Perhaps it is time to get smurf juice...Or a new car.

Got Rice? - no. keep the CL. time to get an EF/EK Civic, strip it, cage it, B20 w/ B18c5 head. build the bottom, port the top, boost it, upgrade to the typeR suspension. use the camaro studs so you can fit the fit drag tires and rims. mop the floor and wax the shit out of nearly anyone that comes next to you at a stoplight.

Yea...I definitely plan on having a project car when I'm older. But its difficult for me to have 2 cars right now, being as I'm about to graduate college and need to find an internship before medschool (no permanent address and all). So I need a daily, reliable, comfy, and quick ride. Unfortunately, the cars that are coming out are putting the 1st gen CLs to shame. Evo VIII, STi, AWD Maximas, 350Z, etc etc.

I rarely check this board anymore, but thought i'd add my .02

Stock GT's are very easy to beat, it doesn't matter what year it is. My 4 banger will never lose to a STOCK GT. I've raced many of every year and when I don't miss third gear, i've never lost to one. My track times sucked, and with the g-tech it says now I run 14.4.

Your j30 with i/h/e/p, VAFC and MSD will beat the STOCK GT. I guarantee it. Why not get the bottle? What's holding you back?

notice how i keep saying STOCK GT, once they change the i,h,e we don't have a chance even bottle fed without major work. Those rust stangs are very restrictive. I hang with some guys that race gt's and they are very impressed with my acura.

GET THE BOTTLE

My friend with the GT has got I/H/E, larger throttle body, new air flow meter and just some little things here and there. He’s taking me on some rides and I must say my head really snapped when he punched it. I think I’m just going to have to wait till I get a car that was designed for going fast. I’m thinking a early 90’s DOHC 3.0 V6 speedster. Either a VR-4, 300ZX TT, or a Supra TT

and i'm only in the high 14's with my whole interior and trunk ripped out

but i wouldn't trade it for a ford any day
