what size pipe is used in the stock exhaust?

i have a 98 2.3 and I am about to do something with my exhaust, I cant really make up my mind becuase some holes are missing in my knowledge about the car, I see people getting custom bent pipe and shops using 2.25" pipe, is that what is standard on the car already? if not, do i need to buy a new resonator and cat?

2.25" is the size of the stock piping i believe. If youre going to be getting a new muffler and such, id reccomened getting a new resonator. Get an 18" magnaflow or something

2.25" for our stock size. thats seems a little to big for a stock size. thats just my take.

well, on my 3.0 it's 2.25 up to the rear axle, and then is changes to about 1.75" or something.

Last time i did a full exhaust on my accord i am pretty sure i went up to 2.25.. I dunno though, that was a long ass time ago.

i went to mufflerman today durring my lunch break and the tech put the car on the lift and he said the stock pipe looked to be 1.75", im going to get 2.25" from the cat to the muffler and get a magflow resonator and exhaust, they guy quoted me at $475 for all the parts and labor. Does that sound reasonable?

unless a resonator costs 175, then no.

my prices:

magnamuff: 150~
piping: 130-145~

I didnt throw a resonator on there. so see how that adds up... if anything, buy the resonator yourself on ebay.

the resonator was 75 from Mufflerman, so even with that, yeah it seems high, the 14805 cost like 180 installed there, i know if I order the parts online i might be able to save a little, but i dont know where all this extra money is coming from, unless its the type of pipe they are using
