what keeps you modding?

hmm i've been holding back on the cl for awhile now, what keeps you guys modding the cl with parts worth more than the car itself? i've been contemplating a complete overhaul with money i've been saving for a new car. but i can't justify dropping 3k on new wheels, tires, suspension thinking someones gonna hit me and im gonna be screwed.
/rant.

My brother started me on modding my car and this damn website continues it. I blame all my money spending on AcureZine.

if someone hits you then you should be compensated for the parts...

My friends car just got totaled and they compensated him for the lip spoiler, the rims, the headunit, and the intake that he had on it.

But as far as what keeps me modding... If I see something that I want/need, then I get it.

a lot of times i think about what cars i could buy for all the money i've put into my cl, and the money i plan on putting into it.. then i'm like damn i could have a nice car.. newer, more powerful, less problems, etc..
but then i'd just have a normal car that i see all the time.. that has no love put into it, nothing to be proud of, just nothing special.
but beyond that, i've never fallen for the look of a car more than the cl (well, any car that i could own).. why would i want to get rid of it for a car i find less visually appealing?
when you really like something, you put up with the problems.. like women!
i think about all the work i still want to do to my car, and i instantly dismiss the idea of getting rid of it.. i know what i want it to become, and it would just be too fucking great to not do... i think of it as a piece of art... a work in progress, but it's going to take fucking forever cuz im broke as shit

ok more drank

hmm im glad im not the only one thinking about this.
i've been contemplating selling it for awhile but my parents found this car when i was a noob to the car world and i didnt really know too much about cars, and they happend to get me a salvaged title car.
i havent really been paying too much for maintence since i've been taking everything to the dealership and having it replaced under the emissions warranty (its there right now for a new IAC)

x2.. The Love for the CL is def. what keeps me going.. When you think about it.. 1st Gens are all 10 years old now.. but, they are the shit when they're clean as hell!.. even though our modifications are limited and nothing like the mods one can have with a civic.. You have luxary, class, and the option of speed. I get offers from people wanting to buy my car all the time. and my CL in my opinion is a POS compared to some on this site (no for long), ..

No matter what car I get, I'll always do some sort of modding to it. Mainly because of this site..

Because the CLs still look awesome and my car doesn't look like every other modded Civic. That and people are always inspiring me on here.

I'm going to start modding now. I just recently got the huge dent in my driver side door out Now I will save money every two weeks when i get paid. I think the first thing I'm going to save for is a set of rims.

I bought the car as a tribute to my buddy that died in a black ack teg type-R and it just went from there. This website is one of the main reasons since I've been on it for 5 years now. My main inspiration is to try different things, and make my CL unique, and since I'm building a show car unsponsored, I also want to inspire members on here being a moderator gives me more reason to try new things. Plus I'm a diy'er and look for any excuse to try a new project just to see what I can come up with. It's more addicition than anything, once you pop, you can't stop.

It's all about passion and devotion, we all are trying to get dif things from our cars, it's all in your vision. What keeps me modding is the final picture that I see in my head. That and picturing it sitting at a show with hotties in front of it

meh, i might still take my chances..........what i've been really toggling is whether or not to be the first k24 swapped cl. i have the money in hand, i have a shop gearing to go but im not sure if it would be worth it to put that much money into my car that is worth less than the engine itself.

I think I was the first for twins in a cl, But a K24 would be a very unique swap almost unheard of.

Why do i keep the mods a comin'... Well in my case the sound of the blow off everytime i change a gear. but before she got boost i kept spending $$$ because even after a decade of new models i love this one more than any other, they were ahead of there time. The sleak, slinder, flowing design w/ curves that remind me of a beutiful woman everytime i look at it. I dont see how anyone could not want to make theirs another "dime piece" on the road, cause one things for sure its not just another honda. We are elite, so why not try to show it, and how proud we are of or babies by keepin' em' shinin'. Just take a page out of mr. miagi's book, "wax on, wax off.." You'll love your car more the more you see it glow, guaranteed.

Well I've been into modding since my dad & bro starting building cars and bikes. Thant's what got me into working on cars/trucks/bikes etc...But what gave me the reason to mod was the attention & respect I got from doing all the work. " BUILT, NOT BOUGHT"

But I have to say Kleptos car was a major inspiration on the building process of this CL

this is my first car that i own all for myself and because of this, and im sure every "modder" will agree with me, is to make my car as perfect as possible in my eyes; which is almost impossible, thats why we mod and continue to do so.

Simply because it's a nice car.

It's not a ghetto car.

It's unique.

Money keeps me modding my car.

if you worry about shit

then you will be unhappy.

take care of business.

do what makes you happy

but be responsible.

if you can't afford the mods, then dont get them.

until then, sexy time.

the need to have a unique car that is still hot to death. I think i'm on my way to that. For me, originality is the name of the game and the CL is very fitting for that
