Well, the car doesn't stay stared..... unless the battery is powering the plugs and other stuff as soon as the battery dies out the car shuts off


OK. so w/ that in mind.. We all can agree that the alternator is bad.. so I changed it..
Got 1 from autozone and replaced it

But the problems is still there?
what could be wrong with my car?


Someone help.. is there a fuse that i should look into or what?

Nah the car starts perfectly with the battery but then alternator isn't working.. It provides power to the whole car once its moving by the belt.. but its not.. i wonder if the new altanator is bad or something is wrong from the fuse box or the relay

 

does the "battery" light come on?

check the fuses. make sure the alternator was installled properly.

 

yeah.. probably the alternator wasnt installed right.. try asking someone at pepboys.. or the place u bought your alternator from..

 

the the alternator was installed right...( check and everthing) the battery sign is on.. which is the fuse for the alternator?


Is it a regular 15A fuse?

 

Sometimes you can get a bad alternator. Is it a refurbished alternator or new?

 

Check the "Main Relay". Mine's doing simular. Start the car, as long as the key is in the start position, the motor runs. Let it go back to run, the motor dies. Mine is sporatic right now, so I'm going to check it (seems there are soldering issues from Honda). I found this on Civic SI site. they have instructions on how to fix the problem without buying a new relay.
Don't know that this is the problem, but sounds very familiar.

 

I need to re-phrase the last post. It's Club-SI, not Civic SI.

 

youll need to replace the headlight fluid and the exhaust bearing.
