My engine did something similiar to that acutally...I would take the key out of the ignition and the engine would continue to run. Turns out the CL has some recall in the ignition; the wires start to burn/melt away in there somehow. You might want to ask Acura about it. They fixed mine for free because it's under a recall.

(I'm not sure which years it was for)

Hope this helps man

Mine did the same thing. I was kind of embarrased cuz i was riding with some and they asked me if i was going to turn the car off or not? I checked to make sure i didnt leave the keys in again, but I opened to hood and it turns out it was just the fan running.

soo i thought the fan woudnt run without the keys in??

Fan will run to try and cool the engine down when real hot. Also, the fan will engage without the engine running when you turn the key on and the AC is on. The car defaults one of the fans (there are two) on to keep the engine cooler under the stress of the compressor.

Yeah it can turn on and off for 15 mins. That is Y when u working on the car you suppose to disconnect the battery or u can lose a hand or something while messing around in there.

Mine did that once after getting my 90k tune-up ( timing belt, coolant system flush, all new belts, valve adjustment, etc.) It turned out that my radiator was not full to hte VERY VERY top. The Temp needle would jump all over the place and look as if it was overheating. I topped off the radiator and the problem went away.

This is from a mechanic friend of mine. He told me that injector cleaner is already in major brand gas (ie techron) and you have a fuel filter. If you go to a gas station most of them advertise that there is cleaner already in it. He told me often injector cleaner is not really good for the car and may cause more problems then it solve. In very cold weather, if u have lot of injector in the tank it can freeze and cause problem starts. Or it might not be compatable with ur cat. Over a long period of time it and heavy usage some brands can also wear away the fuel system.

The only one that would be helpful is going to have the inject cleaned thru non chemical methods which honda/acura dealerships have and to change ur fuel filter. I forgot what the service is called but it cost like 100 bucks, i am sure if you ask they will know. They attach a machine or something and it cleans it. Majority of the time most cars won't have a serious enough problem to need their injectors cleaned. You can tell if you are idling like crap and mileage is poor. But if you one of those people that want the car in top performance then watever floats your boat and have it done every 50,000 miles. I will try to find out wat the process is called. I probably do a google search and find out.

Hey rodxx,

Had the same problem, bewildered the hell out of me. Bro, most likely it's just the radiator. If anything needs to be done just have the radiator flushed and refilled. This should solve your problem. Just like Aaron1017 suggested.

Hey Aaron, should have that file ready for you in a day or two. Haven't used the program for awhile so just trying to locate all the disks and stuff.

-Peace

Yeah it turned out when i changed my radiator my car ran a lot more quieter. I had this very small leak from the radiator that I didn't see. Blah.

It's da FAN

Hey Chris and Folks....!!
Check it out. I had a buddy with a Civic like mine install his own version of the Nology Power Core. For those who don't know... It's a capacitor for your ignition. But there's a bit more to it than just a capacitor. So he rolls to the local electronics shop and picks up a bag of small caps. He wire's this thing up like Nology shows. Then he's going nuts cause his car still runs for about 10 seconds after the key is out. His ignition system was still juiced until it ran the cap dry. I told him to diode the wire he tapped into so it didn't backfeed his whole system.
But. Yeah. Dude it's the fan. Don't fret. Just be happy that it works. My Civic's fan has been dead for a year. I had to rig up a new deal so it would come on.... When I tell it too ofcourse.

Project Car

I'm trying to make the CL as fast and handle as well as the Civic. So far I've only done some minor shit. I gutted the airbox pieces from the fender. Painted all four calipers red to match the car. Scrapped the "3.0" and "ACURA" emblems from the rear. Moved the front plate into the grill That looks sweet!! And that's about it. I don't drive it much. The Civic gets way more attention.

I regret to admit that I don't yet own a digital cam. However..... I will borrow one for a day to get some pics of my two kids. (Civic and CL) I moved the plate on the Civic about 3 years ago. It almost looks like Bugs Bunny from the front. It's amazing how many comments you get from this easy mod. It makes the car look so much more aggressive. You folks will dig it. I promise. Give me a day to get these pics up. Should I start a new post or tag it on this one?
