What do you think about this compared to a 2.3CL?
So I was reading Road and Track the other day, and I found this:
http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=6390
I like the idea of a launch feature, and the idea that it might have the potential to be a sleeper car and be practical at the same time. I have also always liked the looks of the HHR and the idea that it kinda brings a retro feel with it. It clearly has more horsepower then the CL and it does seem all around more practical. The only problem I see is the idea of a wagon verus the idea of a coupe. I'm thinking I would like one of these as a NEXT car whenever my 2.3 dies. Oviously But I'm curious just to see what everyone else thinks.

I did, put bluntly, they're nowhere in the same ballpark.
4 door wagon vs coupe.
Turbo charged vs. non-turbo
I never liked the look of the PT's or the HHR's but the SS kit seems a little more stylish, but $22K plus all the extras you'd need to make this thing nice. I would think you could dump that money on a better car with a better turbo and engine. But if you wanna drive a glorified $30K PT cruiser, that's up to you. For $25-30K I'd be driving an Evo, STi or something like that, with more potential.

Yeah, what can I say, I like the idea of the HHR mainly cause of the old "retro" look .... (I don't know what else to call it) But I think that the HHR is more practical for a daily driver. I mean you have to give that to any 4-door car. Plus the SS badge is a perk only not the entire reason for buying one.

Yuck. For 22g's you could figure out the mounting/connections to drop a K24 into a CL and boost it and still have plenty left over to redo the entire interior and exterior. IMO, those HHR's are hideous, they're just another copy of a Chrysler after the designer switched to GM. You want a good sleeper, a CL isn't that bad of a choice. There are plenty of better cars out there than CL's, but an HHR? Please God no.
