What Do I Need To Know Before Buying A Indash LCD TV???
Hey everyone, i need your help!!! I about to throw down about $700 on a TV and CD Changer if it works out...What do i need to know before buying a indash popout LCD??? The one im looking at is the Sony XAV-7W..
http://www.xplodsony.com/products/?C...Y=CD&MD=XAV-7W
Im soo stupid when it come to electronics and hookups...i want the TV to have a tv tuner and be able to hook up PS2 or a camera to it..(which i think u need preouts for...meaning, if the sony has 2 then one goes to ps2 and one to a camera???? ) is that how it works!?! Do me a favor and visit the link and see just tell me what u think...What do i need to know before buying this?? Will i be able to hook up a Tv tuner and camera/ps2 on that sony??

yeah you can hook up two things to it, it has two inputs. its not the preouts though, those are for the amps. those are outputs. you use the two auxiliary inputs for the camera or ps2 or whatever.

Personally i dont like any of Sony's car audio line. I dont know what it is, its just not up to par i think, as for the in-dash screens, i'd maybe save up a little more and get the Panasonic or Kenwood units, both of those are off the chain!

That Panasonic is nice because you can play the radio without having to open the screen.

I was thinking about this also...
What are some essential equipment needed with an in-dash LCD display, when I have an amp and would like to plug in a ps2 etc..?

essential equipment? well to hook up a ps2 you have to get a power inverter thing. thats about it really. if you are going to get an lcd screen without a cd player in it make sure you buy the same brand for the other unit so they hook up through the changer controls.
what exactly do you mean essential equipment though...do you mean everything you need to hook it up? rca's, speaker wire, distribution pieces etc?

sony=their cd players suck and they stop working after a short while. . . i don't trust them.
panasonic= they are kinda of cheaply made IMO
i'd go with the pioneer avx p6400cd with a avm p8000. that's the cd player and the brain of the player. it's pretty cool ish. plus you don't have to have to a separate cd player.

kenwood m700 is touchscreen....definitely a necessity in my book. hook it up to a cd/dvd changer, or the kenwood in dash single disc player w/ a seperate dvd player.
i know there is another company that makes the touchscreens...is it panasonic?

alpine is nice, but i don't believe that the cost is worth what you get. you're just basicly paying for the brand name. i think with pioneer, you get more for your money. IMO

Some of Alpine's older models like the CVA-1005 and 1006 out perform most if the HU that come today.
The invertor is only 50 bucks. I installed mine where the ash tray is in the rear. Came out pretty nice but there's a gap.
