what a day...
Well, I began my journey from Jersey to Virginia Tech yesterday around 1 PM. I made a pitstop in Winchester, VA because I was incredibly hungry. I go into McDonald's and get my food to go so i don't lose much time, get in my car, won't start. I knew it was the battery right away because it was just click and my lights were real dim. I remembered a girl I knew from high school lived in Winchester so I gave her a call. She came by and I tried to jump it to no avail. I tried jumping it with 2 different sets of jumper cables and then another guy tried to jump it, then I called for a tow, he tried to jump it. Every time it would just click. Got it towed to Pepboys, they jumped it somehow...my battery was completely fucked, cost me $170 including the tow. Then I finally got to school and I got pulled over for 32 in a 15. I know I was going a bit fast but there was nobody on campus, I was just cruising. Just a bad day... I'm done ranting...
Cliffs:
-Car wouldn't start 3 hours away from home and 3 hours away from school.
-Couldn't jump it, got it towed, Pepboys jumped it somehow
-Got to school finally and got a ticket, I deserved it but it just made my day worse.

Damn sounds rough homey. I usually do a pre-trip check when traveling from NY to Penn State so that things like that don't happen to me. And cops suck, so theres no other way to explain that 1 lol.

Yeah, it definitely could have been a lot worse. I'm grateful that it wasn't. It still was a bad day though. Oh well, just the battery, small, quick, easy fix. Just terribly inconvenient.

That sucks man.......
R u sure that it was not a loose cable on the battery or some thing like that.......I have seen that if the cables clamps on the battery are not tight the car will not start and will make the clicking noise...were the battery cables tight.....
Let me kow...
thankx

Yeah, before I jumped the car, I checked if the cables were tight and if the fuse was blown in my killswitch. I'm still not sure why it happened; guess it was just bad luck.
And yes, I also hate Murphy.

How much power did the car have? Could have been battery going out, or the alt might be failing

AND it would explain why car the wasn't starting while jumping.
AND it would explain why it MAY have started with a electric powered car jumper pepboyz used
AND it would explain why the can ran fine with a new battery.
BUT how is it now? if the alternator was failing you should see the same problem happening again!

I had power, but not much. My lights were dim and my alarm wasn't engaging at times. I didn't have any forewarning that my battery might be dying, no problems starting before. I also thought my alt might be going...and if it happens again, then I'll know for sure that it's the alt. But, we eliminated the alt because the car kept running when we pulled the positive on the battery...
