What is/caused this?

hey all...
i was sitting in my car waiting to work and took a pik of this..
out of curioisty what is it and what caused it??looks like paint bubbling or sumthing

did you replace the gauge bulbs with led's? looks like its heat related. I've seen similar things happen in accords and preludes when its super hot outside as well

I've seen this on a car that had LED bulbs added to the gauge cluster.

I'm starting to have that problem. I had LED bulbs for awhile now and it's starting to happen...

yep, the heat from the led's will do that. especially high power led's, those things get HOT quick, since the heat is directed and not diffused like regular halogen bulbs with the condoms

if you're running led's in your stock cluster, I recommend setting your dimmer down quite a bit if you dont want this problem long term.

hmmm i dont know whats in there..ive personally never messed with it..i got the car like this...
if the weather can do it im gonna lean towards that cause im in florida

its the heat from the led bulb. im here in fl also. and i don't have that problem.

i wonder now if they bulbs were ever changed or if the car just came with leds..

Yes, that is caused by heat.


I live in Charlotte, NC and last summer we had 4 days of 100+ degree heat in a row.

After the 4th day of leaving my car out in that heat, my gauges started to bubble like that around the little screw in the middle.
