Thats a terrible time! What was your 1/8th?

My 2.3 when I just had e/i was doing 10.3-10.5 all day on 18"s with shitty launches and 2 12"s in the trunk! Now I have headers, and it didn't help much, but if I had stock rims I know I could pull 10.1-10.2's for sure.

My friends accord with our same motor and e/i/h w/18"s did a few 15.7's at carlsbad, and I beat him on the street most of the time. (it's pretty close.) I'm sure I could pull high 15's.

With a clutch and flywheel you should easily break 16! how hot was it out there???? 120*???

what size are those chrome rims in your sig?? those heavy bitches might have something to do with it if they aren't stock.

Also a few 2.3's on this board have posted high 15 sec times with just e/i/h.

my launch is good, because i raced my boy with a 98 Sh prelude I/H/E and i was beating him a little until about 60 mph. he was not running that well of times either. my other friends with an 03 cobra with 460 at the wheels was not running well. it must have not been a good day

In my old 2.2 with short ram and rear section only I was at 16.4 if I recall.
That was on stock rims/suspension, and regular all season street tires.
You could do better. Where are you shifting? What launch RPM?
Shift right before you hit the rev limiter, shift fast and accurately. Don't drive through the waterbox or warm up your tires unless you've got R-compound rubber, most street tires get greasy when hot and the water never gets out of your tread.

Work on the driver, it's important.

you said your launches were good, did you mean they were good at the track? or when you raced the prelude? Or did you race the prelude at the track?

What times did the prelude run?? He should be low 15"s, maybe even a high 14 if he's a good driver.

carlsbad is one of the fastest tracks around. He'd probably run 16 flat at other tracks

Damn yo! that time is sloooooooooo as hell!

Others here in the DC area with your mods were pulling 15.8's-16.0s so your times should reflect these.

Work on the launch and the shifting, you should be a high 15 car, and then wait until the weather cools off a bit. Racing in 98 degree heat is just moronic!

my launches were fairly consistent. one of them was -.001 so i almost had a perfect but it was a fault so i was pissed but against the lude the driver has only had his car for a month, so he is still getting use to it. But the track was very shitty at the end of the night

10's my as

he knows damn well that hes has never ran 10's in a cl especially with a stock 2.2 5 speed. I mean its not like we dont have pretty much the same car. face it without the swap our cars are very slow, but they look good.

people need to specify the 1/8 or 1/4.
All this talk of 10's in a 1/4 mile thread is misleading.

Also, a good launch does not necessarily mean your reaction time. We're talking about the traction off the line, tire slippage, clutch feathering etc. 60ft times can indicate weather or not you are getting a good hook off the line.

elevation has a lot to do about your run also. I know if i run something here, i will be faster in california because it is lower than vegas is.
