Went for a ride in a turbo si

My ex girlfriend come over today to take me for a ride. She has a 2000 civic si + turbo and lots of other mods. That thing was crazy !!! We made a few runs down the interstate and that thing was doing 150 plus ez. It runs a low 13 on the track. Not bad for a civic

your ex was doing 150mph?

not that the car couldn't, but I doubt she went that fast. I know a guy with a greddy turbo si. Fully built on 10psi and it euns mid 13's and he's a great driver. Your ex must have some serious boost and some skillz!

I've hit 140, just takes me some time :P...So why can't a turbo SI hit 150? Hell...A WRX can hit that easy and its awd. My friend's modded one goes to 140 still pullin.

dude I'm sure it can hit 150, but do you know any living GIRL that would cruise at 150? I don't but if you do, then sent her my way.

As I stated above, i'm not doubting the Si, just the story.

the spedo stops at 140 the needle stoped moving at i guess where 145 or 150 would be but the car kept on pulling.

the car and the girl were at nopi last weekend in atl

i was woried about her goin that fast but im still here so its all good.

she left one of thoes bmw 740 in the dust and never even thought of shifting out of 5th gear

the car has a integra type r tanny also, i dont know how that affects the gearing from stock si ?
i love the sound of a blowoff valve =)

being AWD has nothing to do w/ it. It's all about the gearing. I don't see a SI even turbo hitting 150 easily at all.

150 isnt that big of a deal. Sure it will take a bit to get up there, but if your running an ECU with no governor, it's completely possible. I've done 148 in my CL, and I was only at 72-7300 rpm's. I think my car will do 160-165. My car is runs smooth all the way up through 130-140. If you didnt look at the spedo, you wouldnt know that you were going that fast. Thats how my car is, and I'm not even running boost!

AWD = more drive train loss = less HP to the ground.

You need HP to get up there. Thats why "WRXs have no top end"...plus the fact the stock wrx has 3 cats (1 preturbo).

But you're right...gearing also affects it.

WRX has no top end because of gearing, it has nothing to do w/ the fact it's AWD. Look at the porsche turbo for example, they stop just short of 200 while the GT2 which is the same car is only a mph or 2 faster top end and most of it has to do w/ it's different aero's and it's lighter

Gearing is what makes or breaks how fast you are gonna go. A long w/ aero's

My ex ex girlfriend would wind her intergra GSR up to 135-140 mph on a regular......I remember after we went to see The Fast and the Furious when it came out, she lit up the tires at every stop sign and red light all the way to the house......she could catch a damn good 2nd too.....so there are chics out there that can drive the shit out of a car

I'm sure gearing has to do with it...Which I agreed with in my previous post.

But give a car with 50 HP long gearing and it still won't ever reach 150.
