Well found out today...

That the new 2006 Type R Componets 6 1/2 will not fit in a 99 Acura CL, Unless you get some custom job done, they will not fit, sucks I spent $150 on them and cant use, ah well. Just givin heads up to people thinking about putting them in ya door. I ended up putting Infinity Perfects 6 1/2 componets and they fit like a glove, I recommend them to anyone, Well just givin the heads up to who ever may not know this already. Later fellas.

Our door Grills are smaller and the glass is behind it aswell. They put a big ass spacer on it and then the door panal came into the picture as a problem. Our door panal is sepret from that. Looks totally different.

Our door grills? That first picture i posted is the door grommet/grill dude. Believe me I know, I do all my own audio work. I have spacers that I never used, all I did was deepen the speaker location, didn't interfere with the window either. Had to make spacers for the rear speakers, not the front. And look at the difference for mine, the magnets are bigger than your type r's

Removed that little piece of plastic grill, and everything fits like stock

No problem with the door panel

Ah well. I thought the older models were different Dept. BTW, when I ment does not fit I ment they mounting Dept is WAY to big for our doors. the magnet wasnt the problem. AH well, the infinitys are well more then enough, there Lovely To bad I couldnt stick with the alpine theme I was goin with lol, oh well.

I hear ya, I was just saying that the magnets affect the mounting depth, I had the same problem as you, but I made em fit with no spacers. But oh well, it's too late now, but at least u got infinities.

EBay actually, took it up to a Discount audio place to find out what I should do when I realized it wasnt working out, and well, it was to much moding, so I just to hell with it and asked what would just slip right in but was worth a damn, and the perfectes are what they pointed out, and they sure did, and I dont regret it one bit, VERY nice speakers, and not a bad price if ya ask me. I was just goin with the best alpine had to offer, Everyting else in my car is alpine, LOL kinda childish but hey, its a prefrence.
