Weird tranny behavior

I just got my 99 3.0 CL in Feb 04, now 56k miles, no mods, no racing, excellent car except one problem, the tranny behave strangely:

First, it's got the typical 1st-2nd gear drag, i.e. 1st gear won't shifts to 2nd until almost 4k rpm.

Second, which bothers me the most, is when I slow down, the auto tranny "downshift" from 2nd to 1st. Normally on other cars, the rpm should drop slowly from higher rpm to idling rpm at complete stop. On my CL, it will drop from higher rpm down to 800 rpm in 1st gear (normal idling rpm), BUT "bounces up" to 1000 rpm, then back to 800 rpm. All happens within 2 seconds.

Anyone else experienced problems like that?

I have changed my tranny fluid (not flush) once, the tranny was smoother but the symptoms came back in only 3 weeks.

Should I install a tranny cooler even though I have no mods and don't race at all?

I love this car and would hate to get rid of it.

Any help is much appreciated.

From what i'v read Acura's made out 1st gens Tranny shift late on purpose to increase some sort of smoothness in the ride my tranny does the same thing 1st and 2nd gear but i dont think i down shift and it does bounce from 800-1k sometimes for me also. Usualy my 1st - 2nd gear will shift either at 3.5k-4k depending how hard my foot is down
