Weapon-R Dragon Intake

I just got the dragon intake. I put it in and it sounds great. Except for the fact that is hummmssss very very very loud. And sometimes it whistles at low RPMS.

Could i have installed it wrong? Is air getting out?

Or is it supposed to humm that loud.

I have the same intake for my 3.0. I don't think that I hear any hmmming at low RPM's. In fact, it sounds normal until I step on it. That's when the roaring starts, VTEC kicks in and people stare at you as you pass them!

I would say check the connections when the car is parked. Turn the engine on and have someone step on the gas and CAREFULLY feel around the pipe and check if any air is coming out. If no one is avaliable to help you out, you can contorl the gas right from the throttle body, by pushing the cable towards the intake (I think it's towrds...).

Can you please take a picture of your setup. Because i am not sure that i have mine set up right.

Because i also got the matrix breather.

I am very confused, and i know the humming is way to loud.

I wouldn't put in the Matrix breather. You lose back pressure in the engine by using it. I have taken pics and will be posting soon, otherwise I can e-mail them. The post will be from the NY meet, so stay tuned...

well, First i must say Melos car sounds great kicked in with the dragon...
I myself have an AEM CAI.. but I like CAI over Short ram... My CAI however too has a constant hummm, or whistle soound, kinda like a vacuum cleaner... but I was told its nothing major, no worries, check over your connections and if all is well, let it be...

Hey RiskyBusiness check the link below to take a look at my intake set-up. Let me know if you have questions. When I installed mine, I thought that it was odd that the pipe was larger than the intake, but I tighten both of the fasteners pretty good and it seems to look pretty good.

How do you have it connected.

I have 2 tubes, 1 in the back, i replaced it with the one that was there before. And the one in the front i have going to the engine(where my matrix filter is now)

If i put the matrix on; does it mean that I leave that hole in the front empty(with no attachments)

I just Installed my Dragon Intake 3 weeks ago. I was told everything was perfect....The humming is normal and it is loud as hell. It's coming from the foam filter. I was told if you change the filter it will help a little bit, I havent done it yet cuz I'm getting used to the humming nosie. I also hear that jet like whistle at low rpms also.

Tha black one I had to leave. It's had coolant coming out of it when I tried to take it off, so I left it. When I get a chance i will replace it with another tube for the coolant.

Did you reset the computer by disconnecting the battery? I haven't done so yet, but was told that I should. I will do it when I replace the radio in a few days...

Yes I did....but if you do and still have stock head unit you have to know the code or else you'll be driving around listening to nothing but your intake.
