ways to sound better..

I heard that if i take my resignator off my car will have a better sound to it... is this true?
And are there any negatives to removing this part? Is it true that it can suck up water into the intake w/o this resignator?

Also, I heard K&N air filters help too, and not to mention they work great.

Just checking on the validity of these statements... thanks!

Do you mean the whole resonator, or just the resonator tube? If it's the tube, the only way you'll suck in water through that is if your engine is submerged...

#9 is the tube, #3 is the resonator chamber.

As for the drop-in K&N filter, it doesn't do much. I would recommend that you just get a Short Ram Intake or Cold Air Intake (for power and for some sound).

Yeah go with an intake from AEM, it will sound way better (especially when VTEC kicks in) and if your worried about the water just get a v2 or short ram intake.

i took off my resonator when i got the car

made the car sound really niec....the 3.0

the only prob is that you'll get a check engine due to an EGR clog, but i'm guessing if u reset ECU it wont happen....besides, warranty covers it

No, you do not have to take bumper off. However , you do need to pop off a few screws and and plastic rivet things.

i think you can do it without, you have to take out the fender liner and such. ask 97acura3.0cl, he did it for me when we had the bumper off for my black housings

I drove without a resonator for approximately 8 months and it did not sound better. The sound got louder--yes, but not better.

But just a month ago I installed the AEM SRI and I can definitely say it sounds a lot better than before.

i just got my EGR done, and an exhaust sensor was bad too, covered by warranty. if it happens again i'm probably fucked.. lol.

Take your corner lights out, there are four big bolts holding it on behind those. Then there are a few screws in the wheel well and it pops right off. Nothing to it.
