Be Warned: Stupid Newbie Rim Question!!

Ok, I know every other post these days is a newbie rim question, but if you're reading this then you've already been warned! haha!

FOR THE LAST TIME ALREADY!:

What is the bolt pattern on a 1998 3.0 CL? Is it 4x100? 4x114? Something else?

What the hell is offset? Why does it matter?
How do I know if the rims I'm buying are acceptable?
Can we put 235 (note: 235, not 225!!!) /35/18s on our cars (98 3.0 CL) w/no modifications? Will those tires fit a 7.5" wide rim? Please explain.

And furthermore....

How rough does the ride get when you move from 55/16s to 35/18s??? Anyone speaking from experience? I use the car for work (sales) and don't wanna shake the sh*t out of it all day just to look pimpin'

Btw, I wanna put Blue/Grey 18" G-Racing Kujis on my 'rose CL, check out the artist's (not really) rendering!!

Whoever responds is extremely good looking and charismatic!

Offset helps you with the LIP size on the rim (if your rim has a lip).
My bud has a 3.0 CL with 235/45/17 so I am sure 235/40/18 will fit with no problem.

Those tires will fit a 7.5 wide rim with ease. The goal is to have a flush rim with the tires. It should look flat.

Your ride will be significantly rougher but not uncomfortable. You will feel bumps in the road more. Your car will handle better in turns and feel more planted and solid at high speeds.

Finally G-Racing is a "knock-off"rim company.

Thanks for the advice guys, keep it coming.

Btw, I disagree about G-Racing being a "knock-off" wheel company. Check out Giovanna Wheels' website, www.giovannawheels.com. G-Racing is a brand they offer.

Have you heard some negatives about the rims they produce? Anything specific?

I am a dealer for Wheels/Tires, Lighting, Ect.

Giovanna makes G-Racing. G-racing wheels are pretty good, but do have a tendency to copy other wheel designs, especially racing harts. They do make a good, light racing wheel however.

ok.. i have 45/17 on my ride with 2" drop... slight rub over hard bumps...

35/18s should not be a problem but might be depending on suspension mods...

4/114.3 is correct.... and 42+ is our offset depending on the rim.. you need to research that yourself...

on my TENZO POKE 10 in 17 are 42+...

GOOD LUCK!

I am riding on 18" Racing Hart C2's with 225/40 with a 42 offset with no rubbing, no problem. C2's have a lip on them. I needed spacers for the front rims orelse it would have rubbed on my caliper. there is close to no space between my caliper and rim. I am also riding on Eibach pro-kit with is aprox. 1.25" drop. I lost some ride with the drop but close to no difference with the rims. My car is still smooth as can be.
Hope this helps
