VTEC not working...

...when engine is not fully warmed up.
I'm a newbie, shoot me if this has been discussed before (most likely), but I searched and couldn't find anything...

Is this normal?

the VTEC wont switch cam profiles unless the engine has hit a certain temp, its not exactly good to rev it to 4k+ when its not warmed up

i usually don't push the engine til the temp gauge is at about 4:00

just to the right of the boost gauge

jk...it's all the way on the left
