Voltage Stabalizer kit Question?

I was just wondering if anyone tried the Voltage Stabalizer kit or the Hyper Ground wire kit to fix that HORRIBLE ELD light flickering problem with our CLs?

I know that the Voltage Stabalizer is suppose to enhace the voltage by keeping the battery running at a constant high load even when drawn on. So I assume it will fix that ELD thing. But what about the Hyper Ground Wire system??? I heard that our cars have bad grounds or something that could also be a cause.

So whats the difference anyway between the Stabalizer and the ground Kit? If anyone has tried them to solve the problem or has any imput I would appreciate it.

A number of us have the v 6 performance ground kit, it works wonders. As far as the voltage stabalizer, most of the ones I see look like a rip off. I don't really see much point for them. I would recommend getting the hyper ground or the v 6 p kit

Did you notice any difference as far as the Lights Still flickering under load? Thanks for the info on the ground kit though. I'm definately gonna look into that one.

I didn't have a problem flickering, I have an optima yellow top and have been running 1500 watts for quite some time. I'm not a fan of voltage stabilizers because I don't dig on over drawing my battery for no reason. Sounds like at least you need to change your battery or test your alternator. Get a deep cell battery if you're worried about dimming.

If you are interested in the ground kit, pm me and I'll email you the link it's not allowed to be posted on this site because it's a competitor's site, of which a number of us belong to.

Thanks for all the replies! I picked up this earthing D1 racing Voltage stabalizer kit and well see if it works. If not then it's all good. But I did check my battery and alternator and both are all good. I'm running a NAPA Orbital Red Top 1000cc battery. Did a full load and diagnostic on the starting and charging system and all tests came out normal. But hopefully this volt kit will work. Will be installing it and changing some ground wires this holiday weekend.

You can make some quality ground wires yourselves for much cheaper than a kit by some companies. That's what I did and it worked great on my 3.0.

The volt kit came with some ground wires and I work at an auto parts shop so I'm probably gonna make some ground wires myself to. HAHA....Just for extra...LOL

Okay well I installed the kit and it didn't fix that light flickering thing. But it did enhance the sound quality and better throttle response.

But I was wondering, even when the car is off the digital volt meter and the lights on the meter stays on. Is it suppose to stay on even when the car is off???

If it is, doesn't it put a draw on the battery?? If anyone has any pics or how they installed it would be helpfull. Mine never come with instructions. Plus the box was all in Japanese. haha...

* Oh and the kit I bought was a D1 Spec Earthing Voltage Stabalizer Kit.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks......

I recently got a stabilizer and the holes on the stabilizer where theyre supposed to connect to the battery terminals are way to small to fit around the battery posts, any idea on what to do? Also, whats the easiest way to mount it to the car, it came with a bracket type thing but all teh directions stated was to connect eh + and - to teh battery and youre finished. Thanks.

I got them on my car as well. There was a dyno on them over at the boards I can't mention. There was a 1whp increase right after the install. But that 1whp gain can be argued. So....my verdict is, eh. They do look cool though, and they're cheap. Like $150 or something for the good ones.

Well Mine came wit a small bracket that I used to bolt it up to the battery tie down bolt. So it basically floats next to the battery. As for the posts, I just unbolted the terminal and bolted it to the clamp. If yours are smaller then that you can try buying some bigger terminals at an auto parts shop and crimp them on.

But so far driving with this kit on. It's eh ok I guess. Looks cool but now starting to see not much difference after all. LoL....

just upgrade the wiring from your alt to your battery, that should help a lot!

and make sure all the connections on your alternator are tight.

i was running 1750 rms, fried the stock alternator and drained two batteries...

atm im running a 160amp h/o alternator.

my transmission kept slipping and shifting very hard when my voltage was low.

stereo system was stolen, and i still had voltage problems.

later found that a wire underneath my alt. was loose and corroded.

good luck!

I would recommend at least upgrading the battery, especially if you're not sure how old it is. I recommend a die hard, or optima from my personal experience.

Yea I was looking at the Optimas, IS there really a need to go a Deep Cycle, what would the benefit be? Thanks again!

Deep cycle is for demanding audio systems, like in my case I"m pushing close to 3000W in amps not counting other electronics. If you don't have a big system, get a red top

The one I got is similar to that. Except it's a D1 Style Brand. *Like in the Drifting* But an off brand of the D1 series. I'll post up some pics later when I get a chance. Plus on the V6 motor theres not to much room to mount the kit unless you mount it on the bottom near the battery tray or on the battery hold down like mine. Only thing though is i'm worried about the vibration from driving which may cause the mounting bracket to snap eventually.

So I went to Pep Boys yestsrday and asked one of the guys that worked there which Optima Battery would fit my '99 2.3 and he said they dont make the Optima for my car? Anyone know what size Optima Red they used for their 2.3? I'M almost positive they do in fact make them for my car.

I used the 25/75 yellow top, with the spacer they give you it fits perfect in my 3.0, lots of us have the optimas, some other guys have the 34/78 i think it is, but others with optimas should chime in
