Vibrating noise

Hi,

I have a '97 2.2 CL with about 120K miles on it. For the last couple of months, whenever I first start to accelerate the car, i get this loud vibrating noise which sounds like it's coming from underneath the car. As soon as I gain a little speed, the noise goes away.

Anybody have the same thing happen?

Thanks.

I guess it's more of a buzzing noise, actually. If I hold the accelerator just right, I can keep it going. It happens at about 15 to 20 mph then it's gone. You can feel the buzz in the car. I wanted to know if anyone's had this issue before I take it to a mechanic so I'll know exactly what the problem is.

Your video made it sound like it was happening the whole time. It's just a short buzz that occurs when I get the car moving. If I keep it going at like 10 or 15 mph, the buzz stays. It almost sounds like it would when you shift up to second when you still need first only it's louder and more metal sounding. It goes away when I start moving faster.

Not for a very long time. I think there was 40K miles on it. I guess it's been a few years since I had a tune up. My buzzing goes away after I hit 20. Your car making some weird noises too?

Does it sound like it is right under your shifter? If so it could be a loose heat shield for yuor exhaust. That would crate a vibration at low rpms.

^^ I had the same problem and it turned out to be the heat shield.

I just noticed today that when I first turn the car on and just turn the wheels left and right while in park, it makes the same vibrating noise. Would it still be the heat shield shaking?
