venom 400
has anyone ever dyno tested their cl before and after getting a venom 400? It says up to 25% increase in horsepower, but how many horses do you really gain? is it worth the money?

Its good for an auto cause it really helps with shifts when you're looking for trouble. I'd save my money if you already have a stick. If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably just spend the money on cosmetics. Can't make our cars go fast without smurf juice.

I installed Dustbuster's Venom on my 3.0 last weekend.
So far, I like it. I have noticed some things though...
For instance, after I hooked it up......the LED was pretty much "ON" all the time. It's something like a game now to try to keep the light "OFF" as much as possible. This has required a slight change in my driving habits (maybe not a bad thing).
I definitely feel more low-end power. My tranny seems like it holds gears too long before it shifts though. It will peg at the redline....then hold.....then finally shift. I suspect I'm losing some power at the "hold"........doubt if that's a venom problem though.
Good thing for me so far

There's definitely a low-end power increase!
As for the "hold", It's always done that since I first installed it. I actually had to think for a minute to figure out what you were saying. I guess I just got used to it.

as for the led light always being on...its really how u press your foot on the gas, if wont go on if u just press on the gas...but if ur intentions are to floor it, the light will go on, its all a matter of knowing the point in which the venom turns on.
second the hold or watever, it is more likely that the auto tranny in cl's is like that. i have two friends with cl's both auto, and their cars already do that hold.
the venom i noticed performs best in spots in where the engine seems to stop pulling hard, the venom keeps the power goin when the engine would stop pulling as hard.

The Venom is working fine....my foot is just too heavy (hence, the light coming on as I leave every stoplight.....stopsign......on-ramp........off-ramp...... )
I finally found a suitable home for the LED.....I put a 1/4" hole just to the left of the "interior light control". Right on that 45 degree (or so) break between the vertical surface and the horizontal.
So far, I LOVE it!
Dust - I'm glad I caught the post where a guy was asking about re-programming a Venom......and you said you wanted to get rid of yours. I doubt I could buy a nicer "used" unit!

It served me well, but since I installed nitrous, the Venom just sat in my car in the "off" position (collecting dust)!
Enjoy!

venom 400
One thing about the venom from personal experience. Don't use it if you don't have to. There is an on/off switch for a reason. So only turn it on when necessary. I had mine for about 6 months and my tranny started slipping. And mine was alwas on. So try to be careful on how much u use it. Cause i have to get a new tranny. But thank got for that exteded warrenty. Also....does anyone with the venom have problems with it blowing there secondary O2 sensor??

Right now (if that's what you're asking), my best guestimate is about 14.2/14.3. I have not been to the track with the 75-shot in. I'm basing my guestimate on the cars that I'm beating on the street!
