Vapor lock?

My '99/3.0 CL (115,000miles) runs like a top, always. However, being turned off after a 200 mile drive on our first warm day this year, it would not run properly on an attempted restart 20 minutes later. It was missing and would shut down. Check engine DID NOT come on.

I surmised there could be moisture in the system causing a vapor lock. Put in one bottle of IsoHeat Dry gas. Voila! Car as good as new. I guessed vapor lock because I had another car do the same thing as the weather got warmer.

So -- does the vapor lock scenario make sense, or would you suspect something else?

Most likely water in your fuel supply.

That HEAT stuff works wonders to removing water.

Thanks for confirming. It really seemed like a water/fuel issue (I hope), and yeah IsoHeat works like a charm. I used to have it on hand for my Subaru SVX in the spring. Someone told me aluminum engines have a tendency to build up condensation.
