Valves

Ok, so I went down to get this ticking checked out today. The first place I went to told me that it sounded like a valve. He said that they needed to be adjusted. I took it to somebody else, and he told me that they are hydraulic, and can't be adjusted because they are automatic. It is a 97 3.0. It's a pretty loud ticking at low rpm's only when it is warmed up. Any Experience with lifters, or anything else breaking under the valve cover out there? Thanks

The owners manual suggests getting them adjusted, but only if they're noisy.

I just got off the phone with an acura shop about the valves. the guy told me that they can be adjusted, but it takes about 4.6 hours. That would be $360. Another shop told me yesterday about the same price. Is that normal for the v-6?
