Thanks, for the reply and specs.
Is there any special procedure or can I just line up the cylinder and do the valve job?
I've been troubleshooting a rough idle and missfire for the past month and it's been driving me crazy. You name it I changed it.
I did a leakdown and each cylinder was leaking 4% to 8% not bad for 96k.
I cracked open the valve cover and checked what the lash is now, they are roughly .014 for intake and exhaust, but one exhaust valve in #5 cylinder was very tight, tight enough to keep the valve lower than the other exhaust valve. I loosened it up and temporarly adjusted it to .014, the car idles alot better.
I hope this was the problem, I'll know when I try driving it all day tomorrow.
So if anyone is has been trying to troubleshoot a rough idle and it's not EGR, IAC, distributer, wires, plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and the motor is good, try a valve adjustment.
I was told 3.0 didn't need a valve adjustment so I never checked it, now I know.
Thanks
