popped it off
sprayed wheel degreaser on it
hosed it down
went over it a little bit with a scuff pad
primed it one coat
around 5 coats of wrinkle black paint with only 2-3 minutes of dry time between coats
then i took the paint off the letters and sanded them a bit

yep, it was wrinkle black paint, supposed to look like the OEM B series covers, or the F22As on the accords.

thanks mang, i thought about red at first, but was worried it would be too "loud" in my bay, but was still considering it. when i went to kragen to get the wrinkle red paint, however, they were out and only had black. i just gotta sand the letters down in the same direction tho, up close they look whack

yeah...........the wrinkels are too big, you need to apply alot of heat to it for them to shrink while its drying

i think he was talking about the paint on his car in that quote, not my cover

but yeah, i'm content with how it turned out, it was just for personal satisfaction, how often are people gonna PEEP THE GOODS of my stock CL?

anyways, i'll probably end up redoing it, i didnt use VHT, i used krylon, which is not heat oil or damage resistant

my friend did it with me on his miata, and his wrinkles came out VERY minimal. but we both like the way mine came out better

for sure, i'll snap some after i paint those headers flat black, it looks pretty good in there. flows better than the flashy silver that came stock.

it took quite a while to dry, i'd recommend letting it sit in the sun for 3-4 hours. i only had like 2 hours of sunlight left when i started, so the rest was done with a heat lamp/blowdryer
