Valve Adjustment

I have a V6 and my engine seems like it has been clicking a bit louder now. I wonder if it is time for a valve adjustment or not.

do you guys know if valve adjustments are needed for the 3.0's?

btw, I have 72000 miles on my 97

thanks

If you use cheap oil, or if your oil's low, your valves will tap

It only takes about 30-40mins adjusting it. need to get it done soon for me.

remove the upper intake manifold. no need to remove the throttle body.
remove the spark plug wires,
remove the front and rear valve covers
open the inspection hole in the front timing cover
remove the spark plugs
rotate the crank till #1 piston is at tdc (top dead center)
adjust the #1 valves accordingly (use 10mm wrench to loosten the adjusting locknut and use a flat tip screw driver to adjust the vavle to specs with the feeler guage)
rotate the crank clockwise till the next piston is at tdc (#6 i beleive) do the same thing till your done with all the valves..

thats a pretty vague description but ill scan my service manual when i get home tonight and maybee well make this a diy if someone wants to take pics as they do it.

I got quoted $400 at the local honda stealership. I have only asked a few otehr places, but they wouldn't do it because of the special "feeler tool" that they didn't have. gay.

where did you get that feeler tool wilp?
