Valve adjustment on a 3.0

I'm closing in on 105K when the service manual says a valve adjustment should be done. Can this only be done on a cold engine (meaning an overnight stay)? Also, can any good mechanic do this?

ud want the engine cold for 2 reasons.. reason 1.. its hot and youll get burned. #2 when the metal is cold and you adjust it it is brought to closer tolerances because metal expands when its hot. its something you can do your self. just get the service manual

http://www.helminc.com/helm/Result.a...BC17DSF74877EC from here and it will explain in great detail on how to do it. also it will save you thousands of dollars when it comes to other work, that no one knew that they could do thier selves.
