They are all the same and work on any Honda vtec. They perform best on DOHC vtec's. According to the www.apexi-usa.com they is warning specifically saying that the vafc will NOT work on 4 cylinder Honda accords. You can try to use it seems some people are able to while other are not able to make it work correctly.

The people that I've seen have problems when they wire them incorrectly. They try to use ECU pinouts that Apexi provides which are wrong.
Many people here and in the Accord world have used these and have no issues.
And yes they are all the same.

I helped my brother tune his NA lude with one. While he gained 0 peak HP or Ftlbs, he was able to gain >20hp in some areas of the rev range. Car drove totally different and was well worth the money. Just dont plan on it adding to your peak numbers.
I would also do this after your planned bolt ons for two reasons.
1) Everything you add will require retuning the VAFC
2) The VAFC is going to do more for you if you have more bolt ons.
