V1 Installation

Hey all, I'm looking for detailed step-by-step instruction on installing my V1 in my 1st gen. I'd like to know the best place to mount it, where to run the wiring (including the remote display) and which fuse to tap into. I wasn't able to find a good write-up on this but would appreciate any info you can offer.

Have you tried a search? I think I remember a thread with some pics, even though it was for a 2nd gen. Anyway, I have mine mounted just underneath the tinted portion of the windshield, ran the wire throught the headboard to the drivers side door jam, along inside the plastic door jam cover, down to the fuse panel. Just have to find a power wire that turns on with the ignition and voila, your done.

I think I may have a step by step on my comp.

I have mine mounted in the top left corner of the windshield. I ran the wire up through the pillar

you shouldnt need a step by step you just pull the rubber trim off and push the wire inside the plastic.. thats it

For the wiring, you can pick up a "mini add-a-ciruit." I picked on up at pepboyz. It was in the fuse section. You basically pull one of the fuses, the replace it with the add-a-circuit deal. I used the cigarette lighter fuse in my car. It's an easy way to hardwire the V1 in, if you don't want to clip any wires.

for the v1, they sell a hardwiring kit on their site, just plug the phone cord into it and a tap the power wire the comes out of it into the interior fuse box, run the wires through the pillar and youre done, i just ordered my hardwire kit about a week ago, should be here anyday
