hi guys, well i dont know what i was thinking, i changed my tranny fluid at an oil change shop and now im afraid that it will damage my auto tranny (97 3.0) if i dont switch to honda ATF , tranny was rebuilt at 100, and now at 150k
is it all hype, or is honda atf really diffrent than other fluids?

off course , i did use atf, supposedly the shop was saying its ''the best'' blablaa but its not honda atf

 

I mean, honda atf is what should be in there, but i don't think your tranny would blow up from different ATF. I would at least try to find out what it is

 

I wouldn't put in anything that I don't know what it is.. Especialy in our 3.0s.

Using non-honda ATF shouldn't kill your transmission, but the shifts will get harsh and clunky. I would switch your next oil change.

 

I dont have Honda ATF in mine...I have Acura ATF
