Update on my SC 3.0CL

Well, I've had the supercharger on for a while and so far no problems with the tranny. There is a random problem with the engine 'sputtering' on hot restarts which other SC Accords seem to experience as well. The stock boost is relatively mild, so I definitely plan on installing the upgrade boost kit in the spring. I am also considering a level-ten tranny upgrade to increase throttle response. I've read time & time again that an SC increases response throughout the rpm range, yet off the line the car seems a bit sluggish. I now suspect it may be due to the stock transmission which shifts & engages at a slow/gradual pace for that smooth luxury car feel, something I don't care for now. (Anyone who has a better understanding of what I said, feel free to comment!) Here is a link to a site containing some interesting writeup on a SC install on a Toyota 4x4. Yes, I know, what does that have to do with the CL. Nothing much, but good reading on SC and what this guy did to tune his vehicle.

So, HAS ANYONE ELSE had an SC installed in their 1st-gen? Probably not, otherwise it would have been posted.

YOUR CAR IS FUCKING NUTS! I HAVE TWO QUESTIONS, WHERE DID YOU GET THE INDIGLOS? WHERE DID YOU FIND THOSE CARBON FIBER WIRES, AND DO YOU THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN A SET OF NOLOGY HOTWIRES?

You can use any indiglo gauges that are for a 94-97 Honda Accord.

I've since changed the wires to Magnecore wires. Why you ask, I like the red silicone color, don't laugh cause that is a big reason I switched.

Honestly, I don't think the various brands of ignition wires will make a signigicant performance difference. So buy whatever makes you feel happy!

btw-I still have the carbon fiber wires if you're interested in them.

Hey, have you upgraded your exhaust yet?

Good to hear your tranny is holding up!!

I was wondering when you were going to update you website?? It hasn't been updated since Roger's CL website was up. LOL.

Pics of SC are in old thread here:

http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showt...threadid=85235

Ran ~9.5 in the 1/8 at Acura Wars, 1/4 was closed due to high winds. Will have to wait till spring to see the 1/4. Against a TypeS, I would be about 1/2 car length behind. I think a quicker shifting tranny would cut that down.

oh yeah, I have a website, one of these days I will update it.

exhaust-dont know, thinking about DC-Sports as I want something quiet.

9.5's not bad, that should be about mid 14's. that pulley upgrade would be nasty...cant wait to hear your times this spring when you get that done. have you gotten it tuned yet or you still dont want to waste your money.

CLdriver, I highly recommend *NOT* going w/ level ten. They are in alot of heat for selling people stock parts when they say they are upgraded, and alot of people have still experienced failure w/ their products.

There are many other options. There is a company out here on the west coast called Art Carr, he does very good tranny work and I know he's been doing some v6 accord cars. Ask over on v6accord.com for some more info!

Art Carr is the bomb (so, I've read)!

Very good reputation, and some phenomenal tranny work!
