I'm antsy as shit. I get my car tomorrow. I had posted a thread about the auto to 5 speed conversion on my 97 2.2CL. After all the hardship of making this and that fit I can say im less then 24hours to completion. Tomorrow is the day I get the bitch back. Cant wait. I already have a H22 swap done and now I threw a 5 speed H22 tranny. Bought a chipped P28 ECU. Rev 9500, no speed limitor, V-tec @ 5000rpm.

Considering the time the car would be in the shop I took the opportunity to costumise the headlights and grill.

I was hoping on putting projectors with halos in at first but after failing to do so I just ended up on giving them a nice black finish (interior) + interior LEDs. I tried carving room for the projector to sit in but the moulding cracked and broke. Extra $75 for another headlight.

I have the original 97 grill. I painted the ugly charcoal plastic bars with a nice black metalic paint. Came out pretty decent.

Who's tuning the P28 to run your H22?

Update
5 Speed conversion was achieved. I finaly got the feel of the H22.
Driving home 2 nights ago the engine blew on me. Im so pissed. Another H22 block is being dropped in as we speak.

As far as the pics all I have are the following on the headlights only.
I would like to wash the car first before I take more pictures but Its in the shop I should get the car back tomorrow and will have more pics on sunday.

Headlight for $75:
Very easy. Go to a website called Car-Part.com. Fill in the criteria and get on the phone.

Swaps:
H22 + Auto tranny = $1200 - $1600
H22 + 5 speed = $1800 - $2500
Labor from F22 to H22 = $700 - $1000
Labor auto to 5 speed = $900

 

What did you do to blow the engine that quick? How many miles did it have on it?

 

Well I did the initial h22 swap last year in January. The engine came with appx 45,000 miles. When i was driving it sounded like the clutch slipped real bad. A lot of grinding but it was coming from the engine. I was driving it normal. Not racing or @ high rpm.
I've been stressing the engine when it was automatic. The only one to blame for this is me. I guess its time came.

Well that sucks ... It's too late but I would of re did the internals cams, pistons and rods since it was being redone..Get that biatch ready for BOOST!!!

Too much money to have the internal work done now. I want to do it all at once and right when i have the financial resources. Like I posted earlier in this thread about the deal on ebay. A contract on boosting it up to a H28A, up to 900hp and 39psi boost. I want to go with that instead of some $3,000 job where in my head would seem unreliable. I want a DFI setup with about 20lbs of boost.
I saw the engine around 5 oclock e.s.t and damn shorty look good. Looks brand new.

Yes I did rev it 2c to 9500rpm and "damn" thats all I have to say. No, reving to that RPM is not what killed my engine but its the constant beat down, hard driving before I had it converted to 5speed. I would drive in 1 then in 2 and so on. I would redline a lot. Very heavy foot i have. Now that I have the 5 speed I have more hp and tourqe therefore I promise to go easy. j/p but still I dont want to blow another engine.

No one likes the lights??? They should look sick with the internal leds.
