under car neons
i was thinking of getting these b/c they are so cheap. Plus i think itll look cool at shows or street races on weekend nights. Not for everyday tho. My question is do any of u have these?? what color looks best? I was thinking blue or white. Most importantly how is the install? do u have to drill or cut anything under the car?? How did u wire them?? And last, I would like to see any pics from u guys that have them. Thanks!

they are easy to do, but if you want them to be done right there are a few things to keep in mind. i learned all of this the hard way about 4 years ago when i put them on the mustang.
hide them so they cant be seen. nothing worse than seeing the bulbs.
wrap the transformers (the 2 ends of the light) in plastic and then duct tape the hell out of them. this keeps water out. yep, i fried one once.
put clear tape on the bulb. this is 2fold. it adds support to the light in case it the lens cracks, and it keeps all the chips and dirt off the lenses. undercar kits get dirty fast, and all you have to do is pull the tape off to clean it and replace it with more tape. it doesnt have to go completely around the bulb. just the part facing down.
zip tie the hell out of the bulbs.
make sure you dont run the wiring close to the exhaust or anything else under the car that might cause a fire or a wire to break.
hope this helps.

thanks ROSS
i dunno where is a good place to hide the bulbs. Our cars are a little hard when it comes to that. How are the wires ran in detail. Im not very good with electrical stuff.

But...out of the legal colors, I think yellow is definitely hot.

I think the 2 frame rails under the car, running from front to back would be the best place to mount them. Then they are away from the sides of the car so you wont see them very much, and they are protected kinda... you'll bottom out your car before you break a neon tube. As for the front, your on your own there... but my opinion would be just behind that little plastic lip just before the engine. And the back i'm sure there is endless possibilities for mounting places. With the wirring, get some 1/4" split loom tubing to run the wires in, and try to get them inside the car as close to the neon as possible... theres a reason theres almost no wirring under the car... it gets ripped off surprizingly easy!! As for colors... I think white would be ok, but kinda bland. Purple and yellow are like the only other legal colors... and I think purple would be really nice with a black car!
