Ugh..check engine light..3.0CL
Ok, I was driving home from my dad's on father's day which was a 20 minute trip. After about 15 mins I smelt coolant burning (the maple smell), so I started checking my coolant temp light every few seconds. At the next stop light, the temp sensor shot up to about 1/8 inch under the red area on the sensor. I turned the heat on full and pulled over the car, and turned it off. The coolant was boiling in the radiator, and was dripping slowly yet consistently on the ground and there was very little coolant left. Had a friend bring me a gallon of antifreeze and put it in, and drove home fine.
The next morning...the check engine light comes on when after I fixed the broken hose...I have no clue why it came on 24 hours later, but anyway..
The codes I got were (http://www.troublecodes.net/acura/30cl.shtml)
70 - A/T (Bah?)
14 - IAC Valve Circuit Failure (Idle Control I think)
7 - Throttle Position Lower/Higher Than Expected
I may have read the flashes wrong, but there are no codes similar to these really, that I couldve mistaken. And none of these things have anything to do with an overheat really. Car seemingly runs fine, has not ran hot since (2 weeks).
Confused..Anyone have any ideas??
Thanks again

all those stem from the iac.. idle air control valve. theres air in the valve itself you need to bleed the air out of your system.. just remove the radiator cap (make sure the car is cold) then start it. let it run thru 3 cycles (the fan will come on and you will see coolant go into the radiator) also try squeesing the lower radiator hose while you place your hand over the radiator neck (where the cap is) this will force the air in the block to move.
good luck slim.
