UCA radius rod ?
Should the upper control arm radius rod be in free play? The bolts go through the bushings but its not meant to be a fit correct? The radius rods go freely in either direction.......masterpro part

Since when did our upper control arms grow a radius rod? The only radius rod I know about on our cars is on the lower control arm in the front. It should not have play either. If it moves in and out of the front crossmember then every time you hit the throttle your wheel is going to jerk to one side.

lol, we call that a BOLT. ahha.
Anyways, yes it normal that it is loose for now. It because the bolt isn't torqued (screwed) into the nut. You have to find the torque specification for that bold and nut, position the bushing correctly (just look at your old upper control arm for a reference) and torque both bolts on the bushing. The metal will squeeze everything and it wont move freely anymore. Then you put the arm on the car, voila. :P
I never changed an upper arm on a CL, so i don't know if the arm will fit with the bushings pre-aligned, or if u have to torque it when the arm is already installed.
P.s The part wil still swivel a bit by hand afterwards, it is normal, it sits on a rubber bushing.
