I never liked the direction you took the car, but if you did the mirrors and spoiler too, and gave them all a clear coat to make them as glossy as the hood, then it would look better and more complete. Or just take it all off.
As for the wheels...get some fender flares or get new wheels.. Look like ghetto mexican low rider wheels. I was born and raised in El Paso so trust me, I know.

Glad to see someone had the balls to do it. I'd like it more if there was a gloss finish on the CF vinyl, but it's still unique. I've already voiced my opinion about the holes in the bumper in a previous thread... but the CF'd horizontal surfaces are unique.

I think if the hood was the same finish as the roof and trunk it wouldn't look so weird.

I liked the roof racks...why did you take them off? That was pure unique. Throw them back on and take the bumper ladder off and change the rear bumper holes and I think your good! And CL's werent made to be fast anyways. I read a book about CL's and they were made for the higher up working man such as a lawyer. You dont get a 12 sec car with automatic climate control and 90% being automatic transmission with 99% leather seats and wood grain dash board. So good job on being different with fast also!

I think putting clear coat on cf LOOK vinyl is just retarded, it's not CF weave, it's viny. I think it would look better with real CF, I would love to see it with real CF, but at least this gives an idea of what it looks like.

we r working on the clear next trying out diffrent clear on the vinyl see which works out the best. i am doin the hood next ne ways dont feel like spending couple of hundred just to reclear it. with the vinyl its still carbon hood without the hard texture of clear on it.

I didn't think that would quite cut it. I'll be more constructive, I like the yellowed inner lights, I like the idea, but I just don't like the execution. Namely the bumper holes, eyelids are too much with the black hood and canards, and the thing that set off my whole negativity was the H-emblems. I just think it is innappropriate, I think you guys said there's an H22 under there so I get that but I think the H's lower the car's appearance value.

I do like the concept of CF hood, roof, and trunk, especially on white, but honestly I'm not feeling the rims either. I like the black, but the lip is making them look like 14's on 80 series tires.

My wife does say I'm brutally honest, which usually is a good thing, I appologize if I've hurt/offended you...it was really late when I posted my nasty remark.

The car is defiently low. the H emblems dont really bother me other than im not really diggin the red H. My only question is it just the pics or do the wheels really stick out that much on the sides??

As for the ride Shaun, I love the skunk look, but the offset of your rims kill it for me. Either go with flares, or go with a higher offset to make it more flush. Based on the pics, it just sticks out too much which throws everything off.

Props for someone finally going with the skunk look. I would have done the same asap if I ever laid my hands on a white CL.

I use to be into low riders A LONG time ago, and the aggression of the rim without it being flushed kind of reminds me of it. That's why it throws it off to me. If the rims were just flushed with the body (with or without flares), I think it would look HOT! Everything else I like.

A few of us have talked about doing this over and over, and he finally just did it. But it's not a matter of balls, it's a matter of money (at least for me). Since you're going with CF to match the hood, and not just black, I also say you should go Gloss CF to truly match. Are you against painting everything black instead (trunk, roof, hood)?
Whenever I've pondered this look, I always wondered what I'd do about the spoiler... I think either way, matching or not, it's going to look off. Maybe remove it and go with the M3 style one?

Also, did you lay this yourself or have it done? Do you mind me asking how much it ran you?

wow i guess i'm one of the few that actually like it when someone does something different with a CL. The only thing i don't like is the Honda Badge on the rear. I guess another reason i like it is cuz i actually drove it and it would slap the shit outta pretty much any other 1st gen on here besides maybe Chris (Cocoa).

I love the offset. In person, its way more apparent that the lip is stepped. if the car wouldn't scrape anywhere he'd lower it more. I almost messed up his exhaust cutout on the highway cuz it was too low.
