Someone i know works in the "car oil" field. He only swears by Amsoil. I'v never tried it myself, but there has been several researches made by his company, it compared amsoil with royal purple. I thought royal was good, but it failed several tests, which the amsoil passed with flying colors.

If your going with a really expansive oil, buy the Amsoil. If you want regular synthetic, go with Mobile 1. Dont even think about getting RP!

In my mechanics class, my teacher told us to stay away from those "cheap, large retailer's filters" such as fram, quacker state and so on. He said the best filters for the car is the dealers, and they're not that much more expansive, as well as coming with a new drain bolt washer. I'v also heard good things about AC-Delco oil filters.

But in the end, a filter is a filter, if your going to change your oil often, and keep the engine clean: Changing oil before 5000KM, any filter should be fine. I myself use the AC-Delco filters because they are cheaper than OEM but much better than Fram.

thats something new, never had a problem with fram products before. although other products i used when doing my oil change, it was a bitch to get filter out. especially the 2.x since its in the back of the axle to reach it. i guess to preference for which one to use. i think the 3.0 are alot easier to change though.
