Note the many other threads listed at the bottom of the page. Honda may have been listening - my 04 Accord has a great turning radius.

I pull the E-brake when I do U-turns. The trick is to pull the e-brake first before you turn. If you turn and pull its harder to control the whip. When you get good at it you can parallel from the other side of the street.

snow does help, for example if you were turning around in a street its easier to kinda turn off to the right, then back up with the wheel cranked to the left, then you will be sucessfully turned around.... its less moves than if you woulndt have been able to make it doing a normal u turn

obviously, you guys need some help....try this.....

1. buy some 12" wheels..........or....

2. instead of immediately turning at the u-turn place, proceed forward about 10 feet, pretend like you're making a left turn, then turn HARD, at a slow speed. I do it this way and can even make a u-turn on a 2 lane road without going on the shoulder.

I agree on the turning radius. My family's 1993 Toyota Previa beats the CL in turning radius by miles and miles.

Part of is is FWD. They can't let the wheels turn that much compared to RWD. Part of it is the longer wheelbase than most of the other cars you mention. Part of it is that it's a Honda, most don't have great turning radius #s.

You guys could cock the tires out with some huge ass camber, you'll turn alot quicker - but I only give the outside tread about three weeks.

The E-brake trick is stupid. Before I got my new set of tires, me and a buddy were trying some stupid shit like that out on the old set. Put enough flat spots in them to have one go flat, had to roll on the spare to the tire joint. Yea it looks cool but you tires will last two weeks at the most.

Yeah thats what I do and I barely make it but I do get in. The turning radius does suck though. When I fist got the car I did not know this and I had to back up a couple times but now I compensate for it its O.K. Thats the down side of FWD/Luxury. My other hondas seemed to turn better than this.

I can't make a u-turn anywhere. I thought it was bad stock, now that it's slammed w/ the 18's it's rediculous

Yeah, the turning radius is ridiculous with these cars, the worst is when you got the system bumping and you're trying to look cool (i.e. with a girl) and you got a make a quick U-ie and instead of doing it cool and slick you have to stop put it in reverse and continue . . . Oh well, at least I look pimp while doing it.

When you lower a car you are basically changing it's geometry

I figured someone had to have complained about this - good thing for searches.

Agree with everyone - the turning radius is horrible. Last week I had to turn around and backtrack (no room for a U-turn). So I stop and back the car up into someones driveway (off a 55 mph backroad) and realize I can't straighten the car out. The car is sticking halfway out into the road with a car coming at me. Threw it back in drive and hauled ass to get out of the way.

Feels like I'm driving a 70's caddy sometimes...

yeah, as proaudio said, turning radius depends mainly on two things: wheelbase and turning angle of the front wheels. my old del Sol was a breeze to park! ever since getting my dad's 97 CL, i've definitely had to adjust. my mom's 03 CRV turns tighter...

meh, it ain't all that bad once you get used to it. i'm not too afraid to take a curb once in a while, so it all works out alright in the end...the things you do when you live downtown...

Another bad thing about the turning radius is that...

if youre in the car with a chick trying to look all smooth and you bust a Uturn and done make it, you look like some scrub that doesnt know how to drive!

My jeep wrangler on the other hand can probably do a circle in 2 parking spaces...
