Turn signal self activating??

Ever since I got the car I have noticed if I make a quick right turn the left signal comes on when the wheel recenters. At first I thought my hand must be hitting it, but i have paid attention numerous times and my hand is no where near it as far as I can tell. Anyone else have this or know what it might be?

the turn signal switch is connected to the steering collum, so when you signal a turn (for those of you that actually do), make the turn and turn the wheel back to straight, it cancels the signal. It is possible the mecanism is just getting worn out or too dirty, you'll probably have to replace the switch assembly.

Mine has done it a couple times. If I remember correctly with my signal on to turn left when the wheel straightens out rather quickly the blinker goes right on it's own. I have not bothered to look into it yet.
