Trunk Setup: After a weeklong project!!
Trunk Setup: After a weeklong project!!
Here's a pic of my trunk. This is what I've been waiting and wanting to do for over a year now,
and it is finally coming together. The amps are mounted in the spare location.
It's not much but I keep my fellow CL'ers updated!!
Enjoy!!

The following were involved.
10 yds of 1.5oz Fiberglass Mat @ $3.50/yd
2 gallons of Polyester Resin @ 15.79/gal
2 bottles of hardener @ $3.79 ea
4 yds of Polyester Fleece @ 3.68/yd
2 yds of Black Vinyl @ 4.99/yd
2'x4' 1/2" MDF @ $6.99
4'x8' 1/4" Plywood @ $16.99
3M Super Trim Spray Adhesive $13.99/can
1 gallon of Acetone @ $8.99
The most of the supplies cost me $151.30 minus local taxes (7%) and certain tools (Rotozip tool - $59.97) and miscellaneous items I needed. So if starting from scratch you'll be lookiing at about at least $250. But overall I think it was worth it. I finally have trunk space!!!! On top of that each sub panel was built with 1.24 cubic feet of space. Actually filled it up with water to measure (can someone say anal retentive???!!
)
BTW, I have a vinyl wrapped sub box for sale. It has rounded edges and holds two 12" subs. Selling it for $50 + shipping. Professionally made and looks awesome.

did you take sound cancelation into account with a setup like that, i always worry about having subs fire into each other like that? have you listened to any base test songs? any weak spots or destructive interference?

Trunk looks bangin, very clean, stock feel. It looks like a sweet custom job. I like the open space in the middle, and the smooth black trunk base. Definately inspiring to the members here. We all wish our trunks could look like that. Too bad I don't know shit about fiberglass. Anyway, hell of a job man.
