trunk keeps falling

my trunk always falls down and i wanna get some of the things that go on our hood to put it up on my car, kinda like an actulator, but not motorized. my sisters accord has them and they work well. would i be able to put them on my car? i would think you can because its the same body style, but idk, i guess i will have to look at her car.

you can get little hydrolic hood supports from autozone. i had a couple on my old RX hatch bc that sumbitch was glass and was heavy as fuck.

there's an old thread about this. it has something to do w/ the extra weight of the spoiler. the solution is to either get stronger trunk springs (the metal bars that's on the ceiling of the trunk) or just more the existing one to a different notch. i forget which one was the collect answer.

do a search for trunk springs

Your trunk release will not work right. Those hydraulic actuators are two way. They hold the trunk when it's down and hold it when it's up. When you het the trunk release the actuator will hold the trunk lid down. You'd be fighting to get it to go up. Weld that mug. I'd take it to a body shop an have them take care of it from the top. Take the rear deck lid off and the speakers out before you go. That will save you $$. How's the BOOM treating you? Put the pass through down for extra bass in the car!!

I'm not a fan of MTX. But the 7500 is quite a meaty sub. With the power that you have..... You're gonna need a power hungry subwoofer like the 7500. That looks awesome in your car. It's probably louder than the JL 10 in my Civic. You better bring that setup next meet. I wanna hear it. Did you use a screw in that back hole to secure it? It will suck it up to the corner better. Clean up your wiring bro. Try running the cables back under the amp. Tuck it under the carper that goes around the pass through. Warning: It's a bitch.

Lookin' nice though. Great work. The vinyl work on that fiberglass enclosure is perfect!!

You have to take out the rod before you weld it otherwise you'll weld it without the pre-tension making it useless.

His rods are already placed correctly. It's just that the crack in the deck lid needs to be welded. Not the rods themselves. If the crack can be welded from the top(inside the car) then.... PRESTO!! The rods will be in the correct postion when the trunk is opened. And Erics days will be happy.

Besides... We don't like advice from people that can't make it to his local meet. Shame.

Just kiddin' bro. But you better make it to the next meet. OR ELSE!!

Hey wakeboard...I just realized something. Was your trunk like this before the meet? Cause I have some spare trunk supports from my spoiler install. It came with stronger ones, so I still have the stock ones.
