Transmission problem, help!!

Okay as you all may already know I own a 97 acura cl 3.0, has exactly 213,000 miles now, here lately if I floor her for whatever reason, while in 3 gear she climbs quickly to about 4,000 rpms then its almost as if she just doesnt want to go anymore and very very slowly creeps to about 6,000 rpms and jerks into fourth gear, I had the transmission checked at aamco, they informed me that on the 1st to 2nd shift it was slipping when cold due to age, and the factory aluminum shell wasnt thick enough to hold the pressure and heat inside the transmission. However the car has never done this 3rd gear thing, the slipping when cold I can deal with but not this. Anyone else experienced this?

Your transmission is begining to die, it starts with cold starts, eventually it will do it all the time. Get ready to either dump the car, or pay for a rebuild

Lol if that was an easy fix then there would be a lot more members with 6 speed 3.0's. I'd say just rebuild the tranny at a trusted shop, its gone pretty far on the original tranny.

Not that I'm any kind of expert, but it doesn't sound really like a transmission issue to me. At least, it doesn't sound like other transmission issues I've had or read about. Usually the problem is sort of the opposite - the RPMs climbing rapidly because the gear isn't engaged, and then it jerking into gear and gaining slowly again.
Do you have a CEL? Did it show up out of the blue, or has it gotten worse over time? Does it do it when downshifting as well? The slow rise in RPMs sounds more like a clogged air or fuel system..

Tranny Problems

Yea I was hoping to hear that it wasnt the transmission dying something in me tells me it electrical or at least it seems so, maybe on my way to work today Ill record what it does and post it, and give you guys the link! May sound crazy to you all, but its most defenitily worth it to me to just rebuild or swap the transmission out of my totalled Cl. That was afterall the point in buying it lol. I will drive this car until the wheels literally fall off it, and yes it is the original transmission, my mom bought the car new, I got it three years ago from her with 150,000 miles on it! Its an awesome car, even now she has a 05 330i Bimmer, and says she wishes she would have kept the Acura! But I will say Id kill to have a manual 6 speed, or a his/hers at least, thats my main reason for wanting a 2nd gen type s! Wish that could be done to our 3.0's! I appreciate all the replies and help guys. What steering wheel fits our cars, because there are no tan cl steering wheels on ebay, and I need to order one that still has the airbag in it, and I need it quick?

An RSX tan steering wheel, 2nd gen CL wheel, MDX steering wheel will all fit your CL. The RSX being the sportiest of the bunch
