Just did mine yesterday. It took just shy of 3 quarts. Fill it to 2.5 quarts then start checking the dipstick. 3.5 sounds a bit much to me, but maybe with a small transmission cooler it will take about another quart.

3.5 quarts is exactly what you need to refill with, the trans. cooler doesnt require you to add any fluid, the extra hose and cooler itself make a difference of like .1 quarts

According to Acura documentation for severe driving conditions...

The drain/fill intervals is every 30,000 miles or 24 months.

Fluid Replacement Amount
2.3 Manual - 2.0 US qt
2.3 Auto - 2.9 US qt
3.0 Auto - 3.0 US qt

No problems removing the drain bolt for the 3.0 here. With the exception my breaking bar is longer than the height I could lift the car and since the bolt is perpendicular to the ground, I had to remove it at an angle.

No tranny cooler here, but just changed my fluid and the filler bolt was a BYTCH to get off.

Yeah my filler bolt was pretty tight also, I use a breaker bar and a 2' extension to get it loose. No way it was happening with just a 1/2" drive ratchet.

Also, I just did another drain and fill the other day and this time it took a bit over 3L. Last time I had only jacked the car up on the driver side, so I guess I didn't get good full drainage.
