Transmission Dead For Sale or knowledge of cheap replacement

Hi folks, This is my first time posting a message on Acura forum site. I just want to say what up to all the 1st generation Acura owners. Let me get straight to the point. I have a 98 Cl 2.3 with a dying transmission. It is still drivable but you can feel the slip. I took it to a transmission shop and they told me that it will cost me about 4K to rebuild the damn thing and another 1500 to replace it. My problem is that I don't have the cash like that. I am currently trying to get into a house and have much time and money to put in it anymore. My question is does anyone have a good transmission that they are willing to sell for a reasonable price and or be willing to buy the vehicle for $4000 or best offer(willing to make a deal). At this point the car did it's job and I am ready to let it go or fix the car and sell it anyway. The rest of the car is is very good shape. Its white with dark tints all around, No serious body damage. Just a few scraps hear and there. ( I will send pics if interested.) The car has 123,000 miles. Never been raced or ran rough. I have new tires, auto start and alarm, interior in good condition(needs new woodgrain for dash( I found a site who sells them for $80) Stock deck with infinity components in the front. New cold air intake just installed, sound dampend in trunk, doors and rear seat. New race exhaust hardly ever used( I will throw it in at no cost). Oil changes and tune ups kept current. Engine block is in perfect condition The car does run and will run if not pushed for a long time with current tranny. You get it on the highway and the car floats as if nothing is wrong with it. ( I wish it was still true LOL!!!

Any takers or anyone in the Maryland, VA, or DC or even the east coast willing to help a brotha out to get him back up and running like a champ is definately appreciated. Also, if anyone has any other alternatives that would benefit me will also be appreciated. This car got me alot of looks and @ss like a true pimp would, but now the pimp mobile is down and out.. I need to refresh my ammo. This is the car for anyone looking for parts or to build a 1st generation monster.

You should be able to find a place to rebuild it for around $1200-1800. Also, I am more than sure you can find a used one for about or under $400. And install would be around the same I'm sure. I'll try and find you one once I'm off work. Anyone want to get on ebay for him or recommend a shop to him?

Can he fit the 2.2 tranny even though he has the 2.3? I found a couple for $450. I'm not an expert when it comes to the 2.2/2.3 CL's...

I know with the 3.0 the 97 wont work with the 98-99 because of the wiring/plugs, even though it bolts up. That's why I have to ask.

I thought about looking into a 6 gen honda. It has to fit a automatic 4 cylinder. Also my engine is a v-tec. I have not found any used tranny that will fit in my area for under $2000. I am currently looking in other locations to find one.

Which mounts? The tranny mount, or the location of the plugs? I could have sworn is had something to do with the electricals...

I could have sworn the tranny mounts are different from the 97's and 98-99's but I thought you told me that

Not me, the tranny mounts are different for the 6 speed from the auto. But as far as the 97 and 98-99, it had something to do with the plugs. I was told this from baka_t years ago. Back when I bought a spare tranny to have in my garage.
