Transmission clank in reverse

I did a search, but only found second gen CLs with this. I changed my trans fluid today, and when cycling through the gears in the garage to make sure the fluid was everywhere before checking the level, I noticed a clank when going from D to R. Anyone else notice this?

The only time I hear a clank shifting gears is when the outside temp falls below 32 degrees. As long as it's not a rubbing sound I would have to say don't worry about it.

yes, we've experienced that also.
i notice it mostly when i shift into reverse before the
car is at a full stop. (obviously not wise)

we had the tranny fluid changed during the 55k mi. mark,
60k mi. is coming up.

luckily, i have not heard that clanking noise that much lately.

should i be concerned as well???

Mine "clanks" every time I shift from D4/D3 to R. It does it whether I come to a full stop or a slight roll. Doesn't seem to be affected by temp....at least not on mine.

well i used to have the problem it IS the transmision but just the beginning of having problems... when you park on a slight hill or any kinda slant......pulll up your e-brake let off of the brake and let the emergency brake catch the car the push it in to park .....ALWAYS USE YOUR E-BRAKE!!! i will solve your problem!!

man, what are you talking about pushing it into park.

when you're parking on an incline, step on the brake, shift into park, pull up E-brake, then let go of the brake.....

what kind of problems did you have?
transmission replacement?
i hope we're not in for a surprise with our first gen CL's.

I have a h22a tranny and i have the same problem. But mine is affected by temp. When my car is cold and i go from park to reverse it makes a huge clank noise and it feels like its going to tear out. BUt when the car is warmed up and i turn the wheel before i hit reverse it is fine.
