tranny speed sensor

ok yesterday my check engine light came on. so i went to autozone and they told me i needed a speed sensor for my tranny. i also double checked it with a tranny shop which told me the same thing. so i got it, and replaced it. has this happened to any one else? im just curious.

Haven't had a problem with mine.

Sorry to hear about the extra expense.

No slipping (unless it's brutally cold, and I don't warm up the tranny).

It's my first tranny.

I believe the tranny cooler is the reason I STILL have my 1st tranny! It should be destroyed by now (N2O).

when i shipped my car over from nassau back in july, as soon as i got her on the highway, my speedometer got fucked up. so i took her to the dealership and they replace the speed sensor (i think we are talking about the same thing). and they replaced it for me for free cuz they said it's under warranty. but my car is a 97 3.0, the warranty was long expired. so maybe you should take it into the dealership and find out.

oh yeah, and when the speedo was messed up, the shifting was horrible. it was shifting very late and very hard. is yours doing that?
